Butler’s Family Farm, Co. Kilkenny

At the West Waterford Festival of Food last year, I met a lady selling free-range pork and chicken from Kilkenny. She left an impression on me to learn more about our local “food heroes” and to create this series. Mahon Falls

  The path to Mahon Falls When driving along the N25 Waterford-Cork road, it is easy to be distracted by the views of the lush green fields and the Copper Coast to the south, but if you are to look inland you will be treated to awesome sights of the Comeraghs and soon after (or before), the Knockmealdown mountains. Dunmore East

The pocket of our island stretching south from Waterford city down towards Dunmore East, Tramore and towards Wexford has some of the most beautiful, rich, lush scenery you will experience, especially as the River Suir opens into the Irish Sea through the Hook Channel and the land rises out of the water giving great views as you drive along. I will focus on Dunmore East for the moment but will be back with more on this (more…)
